Jordan Steele

I grew up in northeast Ohio before attending Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.  After graduating from Cornell, I served for five years in the U.S. Army, spending most of that time overseas in Europe.  It was there that my love for photography grew into a passion. I’ve been shooting for the past 20 years, and every time I take out my camera, I look to capture the beauty and intrigue in the world.

I now live in Columbus, Ohio and work as an electrical engineer during the day, and use photography as my main means of creative output.

I also run the photography site Admiring Light, where I write articles on technique, write equipment reviews and share my newest photos.

Gear

After using Canon DSLRs for nearly a decade, I switched to mirrorless cameras exclusively nearly 10 years ago. I have shot with cameras and lenses from the Fuji X Mount, Sony E Mount, Canon RF mount, Nikon Z mount, and the Micro 4/3 system. Currently, I shoot with the Nikon Z8 and Zf, the Canon EOS R8, and the Fujifilm X100V. I shoot aerial photography with a DJI Air 2S. I also shoot medium format film with the Mamiya C330f. If you are interested in what gear was used to make a particular photograph, EXIF data is intact for most of the images in the gallery. (Note that film scans will show as being taken with a digital camera and macro lens, as I use my digital camera to scan).
